Join us for our annual(ish) presentation night for new technologies for social enterprise. This showcase night will include companies with new products servicing the nonprofit or social enterprise market as well as some technology companies that are social enterprises themselves. We will have roughly 45 minutes of presentations, followed by a half-hour of Q & A, and then break for some social time, perhaps to a local bar. More details about the speaker line-up will be posted as they are known, but if you or someone you know would like to present, please email me at nate@goodnik.org.

Join Mary Beth Coudal for a three-hour blogging workshop in the co-working space, New Work City, in New York, New York, to jump start your blog on Wednesday night, January 30, 2013.

Participants will write blog posts, learn how to promote their blogs, and discuss ways to continue their blogging momentum.

There will also be time to:
>Share best practices,
> Evaluate effective blogs,
> Read from their works in progress.

When they’re done, participants will have:
> completed a blog post,
> found a theme,
> created a community of supportive writers, and
> discovered their next steps.

When: Wednesday, January, 30, 2013, 6 to 9 pm

Of last month’s blogging workshop, one participant said, “The Writer’s Boot Camp was exactly what I needed: a little bit of structure, a little bit of free form, and a lot of inspiration. Mary Beth and Kelly did a great job facilitating exercises to help us individually as well as facilitating our class to help each other. Since the class was relatively small, yet very diverse, we were able to offer a range of informative perspectives. I took away many helpful exercises and goals, which I’m still utilizing and implementing.” -from Whitney Hunter-Thomson

The workshop is led by Mary Beth Coudal, who co-owns and operates the Writers Boot Camp. Mary Beth is a blogger whose essays have been published in the New York Times, Salon.com, and Self magazine. She believes in the power of dangerous and authentic writing to transform lives.
